Artichoke

An artichoke is a sophisticated onion denser yet more concealed and green. An onion hides nothing but its layers while an artichoke hides its heart behind thorns and thick leaves. Is an artichoke a succulent? Is an artichoke a flower? What is an artichoke? why is it that artichokes taste divine with butter and garlic or mayonnaise and paprika.  How can an artichoke taste differently in all its forms steamed dip spread oiled or is it pickled. I relate artichokes to avocados although they are not at all the same maybe it is the fact that they both start with A and then have an ‘o’ sound. why is it that they take too long to cook and I don’t know any other way to eat it the heart is the best part but it is coated with soft  locking point hairs that catch in your throat and you have to scrape out with a spoon are artichokes French? how do they grow? where do they come from? who first ate an artichoke? are there other plants that we have yet to discover that are equally if not more tasty than the artichoke? I do enjoy a good avocado every now and then but these are eaten daily around the world.
